Confidence is a very important aspect of life. It can affect the way an individual sees themselves, the decisions and actions they make, and their overall self-worth. Certain aspects of a person’s baseline confidence levels can be seen outwardly, such as the individual’s posture or whether they talk about and describe themselves in a positive and negative light. Confidence is attractive, both in the business world as well as to the opposite sex. People who are comfortable in their own skin, comfortable with their abilities, and with a strong sense of self-awareness tend to create their own luck, so to speak. They tend to go farther in life, and achieve more of their personal goals, which are generally difficult but attainable, because confident people know themselves and how to push themselves to greatness.
While a certain portion of an individual’s confidence is derived chemically, or through genetics, a great deal of the way a person views themselves and their abilities is learned, or through repetitive conditioning. We are all aware that being in an abusive relationship, for instance, takes its toll on the confidence of the parties involved. There are many other ways that a person’s confidence levels can be reduced as well, including repetitive failures in their undertakings, substance abuse, and a low level of self-discipline. These are all terrible ingredients of the human condition which, undeniably exist, but they show a light at the end of the tunnel. If there are ways that people can reduce the confidence of themselves and others, then, conversely, there must be effective measures that can boost people’s confidence as well, setting them up for a happier and more successful life.
